About the project
MediaMasters is a free serious game designed to educate students between the ages of 10 and 12 (primary and special education) about the opportunities and dangers associated with (digital) media. As part of my portfolio, I actively participated in the development of MediaMasters. This engaging game not only builds students' foundational knowledge in media literacy but also incorporates language skills and relevant basic arithmetic concepts. Notably, during the Week of Media Literacy from November 9th to November 17th, 2023, thousands of classrooms will compete for the esteemed title of 'Most Media-Literate Classroom in the Netherlands.'
My contributions
While working at DTT, I actively contributed to the MediaMasters project. Throughout my tenure, I played a crucial role in enhancing the frontend user interface to align it with the provided design specifications. Additionally, I took on the responsibility of implementing the required logic to enable interactivity and ensure smooth functionality of the UI.
Final thoughts
Working on MediaMasters improved my frontend skills by combining CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and Vue.js to achieve desired results. This valuable experience of integrating these technologies significantly contributed to my growth in the field. Contributing to a project that emphasizes media literacy and education was fulfilling. I look forward to applying these combined skills, including my proficiency in Vue.js, to future frontend development endeavors.
