Project Objective
We were tasked by the Navy to create an engaging game for events where they have booths, with the purpose of recruiting individuals. The game should provide entertainment without necessarily being educational, although educational elements can be incorporated if desired. The goal is to design a game that captures people's attention for approximately 5-10 minutes, offering a clear beginning and a defined end to ensure that attendees do not spend excessive time at the booth. Ultimately, the objective of the game is to generate interest in the Navy and encourage individuals to contemplate a career as a Marine.
Gameplay
You start the game by controlling a boat. Your objective is to collect various intel boxes using the crane tool. Once you have collected all three boxes, the waterfall at the end of the level will dry up, allowing you to sail through it and proceed to the next level.
In the following level, your goal is to rescue four ships carrying refugees. However, you will face attacks from enemy kamikaze ships that will try to destroy you and prevent you from saving the refugees.
My role
During this project, my role was the lead developer of the team. I primarily oversaw the development process and ensured that everything was completed. As a developer, my main focus was on the systems that posed more challenges for other team members, allowing them to concentrate on areas where they felt more comfortable. I also maintained active communication with the artists, ensuring a smooth implementation of assets.
